Marlins 3, Dodgers 2: TomKoehler pitched seven innings, and Miami beat Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers in the Marlins’ first game since Giancarlo Stanton was sidelined by a hand injury. Stanton broke his left hand during Friday night’s 7- 1 loss to Los Angeles. The slugger is expected to miss four to six weeks. Cardinals 8, Cubs 1: Michael Wacha pitched six solid innings, and St. Louis became the first major league team with 50 wins. Rangers 4, Blue Jays 0: Yovani Gallardo extended his scoreless streak to a careerhigh 23 innings by pitching three- hit ball into the ninth, and Texas snapped a seasonwors­t six- game skid.

Two- time Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana has abandoned his comeback bid with the Blue Jays. Pirates 8, Braves 4: Pirates star center fielder Andrew McCutchen was hit in the left elbow by a pitch and exited during a five- run first inning as Pittsburgh sent the Braves to their fifth straight loss. McCutchen took a fastball from Julio Teheran ( 5- 4). X- rays were negative, and the 2013 NLMVP will be reevaluate­d Sunday. Angels 4, Mariners 2: Seattle star Robinson Cano was hit in the head by a stray ball while the Angels were warming up in between innings and exited early in Los Angeles’ win. The Mariners’medical staff checked the second baseman for a concussion. No signs of one were found. Reds 1, Mets 1: Matt Harvey stayed steady in the rain and Curtis Granderson homered again for the Mets before their game against the Reds was suspended after six innings with the score tied 1- all. The game will resume Sunday with the top of the seventh inning before the teams play their scheduled series finale. Padres 7, Diamondbac­ks 2: Justin Upton hit a two- run homer and San Diego beat Arizona to get consecutiv­e wins for the first time in three weeks.
