Two slain, one hurt, in shootings

OAKLAND — A teenage boy was among two people killed early Sunday morning after violence erupted with three overnight shootings in a 25-minute span, police said.

A 32-year-old man also died, and a woman was gravely wounded. The gunfire occurred in three locations from 1:30 to 2 a.m. Police have not identified suspects and don’t have motives.

The last of the shootings, at 1:56 a.m., claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy. Police said the teen was walking with friends in the 2000 block of Foothill Boulevard near San Antonio Park when someone in a vehicle shot at them.

Somebody in the group hailed down a car to drive the boy to an undisclose­d hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 2:25 a.m., police said.

Another person with the teen was wounded but ran from the scene and did not show up at any area hospitals.

That shooting occurred about 15 minutes after gunfire struck three men in the 1500 block of Broadway near downtown. Police said victims received their own rides to a hospital, where the 32-yearold man was pronounced dead.

The two fatal shootings raised the 2015 homicide total in Oakland to 56.

The violence started around 1:31 a.m. when a person started firing a gun at a parked car in the 2700 block of Internatio­nal Boulevard. Police said a woman was hit.

The woman was in critical condition, police said.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 for informatio­n leading to an arrest in the two shooting deaths, and up to $5,000 for informatio­n leading to an arrest in connection with the injury incidents.
