Q I hope you can help me with a BART problem. BART recently ran a promotional contest for three limited-edition transit tickets of differing denominations with Warriors players Steph Curry ($30 card), Draymond Green ($23 card) and Klay Thompson ($11 card) on them. I didn’t win the drawing, so I wanted to purchase the three cards.

I started by asking the local station agent, and she referred me to the BART information phone number. The person at that number claimed to know nothing about the promotion and then suggested I call the phone number for Clipper cards. Nobody there had heard of this, either. How can an agency or business do such a poor job of promotions?

OK, that’s not actually the question I want answered. My real question is: How and where can I purchase these unusual cards?

Bill Johnson Walnut Creek

A Be patient. Tickets featuring the three Warriors were available for purchase from BART ticket vending machines only while they were in stock, and they ran out in March. But as the NBA playoffs continue, there will be more opportunities for riders to get these special tickets. Keep checking www.bart.gov/bartable for the next offering.

And go, Dubs, go!

QT he other day on Highway 24 in Orinda, two vehicles (a new Mustang and an older BMW) were racing in and out of traffic, endangering not only their lives but everyone else around them. This isn’t the first time that I have witnessed this. I am tempted to call 911, but I wonder if this is the right approach.

Greg Delmore

A Most definitely. Use 911 if safety is an issue. There’s no guarantee the CHP would have been nearby, but sometimes justice prevails.

Q I hope this falls into your realm of expertise because it involves traffic of two sorts. I live on a hill overlooking the Interstate 80 corridor. There are often traffic helicopters hovering nearby before heading east over the hill. The hill comes up very fast, and often they seem to fly awfully low over my neighborhood.

Are helicopters supposed to maintain some height over populated areas? If so, how do I determine how close is too close, and what recourse do I have for those who don’t abide by the rules? Meg McHugh El Cerrito

A A helicopter may be operated at anywhere from 500 to 1,000 feet, provided the pilot complies with any routes or altitudes specifically prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration. If people believe they have witnessed an unsafe operation, call the FAA Flight Standards District Office at 510-7480122. Q My aunt lives in Arizona and has a Prius with Arizona HOV plates. Can she drive in the HOV lanes here in California without stickers? Michael Brown

A No. This license plate cannot be used to gain access to an HOV lane in California without the minimum number of passengers or a California-issued green or white HOV decal.
