John Madden will present Ken Stabler into the Pro Football Hall of Fame remotely.

With Madden still recovering from hip surgery, his presentation will be remote with Fred Biletnikoff physically on stage, as first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Those two Raiders greats will usher in Stabler, the legendary Raiders quarterback who died last July, as one of eight inductees into the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 6.

49ers: Colin Kaepernick got the green light from his personal physician to fully participate in training camp, which opens Saturday. Kaepernick was limited throughout the offseason following multiple surgeries since November, on his left shoulder, left knee and right thumb. Dr. Peter Millett, of The Steadman Clinic in Colorado, performed those surgeries and the most recent exam. The Sacramento Bee first reported Kaepernick’s health status.

Entering his sixth season, Kaepernick is vying to reclaim the coveted job that Blaine Gabbert assumed at midseason last year. Lions: Anquan Boldin is joining Detroit, according to messages on the freeagent receiver’s Twitter account. Boldin played the past three seasons for the 49ers, but prior to that he was with Baltimore for three seasons. In Boldin’s final season with the Ravens, they won the Super Bowl with current Lions coach Jim Caldwell as offensive coordinator.

Seahawks: Seattle and

coach Pete Carroll, 64, have agreed on a contract extension through the 2019 season. Owner Paul Allen tweeted confirmation of Carroll’s deal. The move came just two days after the team locked up general manager John Schneider to a contract extension.

Browns: Josh Gordon’s return to football has been sidetracked again. The oft-suspended wide receiver, who was reinstated on a conditional basis by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday, has a quadriceps injury that will keep him out of training camp for at least two weeks.

Falcons: Atlanta released return specialist Devin Hester before the opening of training camp. Hester is a three-time AllPro who set an NFL record with 20 career returns for touchdowns. A turf toe injury knocked out most of his season in 2015.

Rams: Jared Goff showed up to the UC Irvine dorms a bit ahead of his fellow rookies, getting a quick start on his first training camp with the team. The No. 1 draft pick out of Cal has been working out at a high school near the Rams’ new Thousand Oaks home base alongside fellow quarterback Case Keenum, rookie receivers Pharoh Cooper and Nelson Spruce and several others.

Cardinals: Safety-cornerback Tyrann Mathieu and cornerback Justin Bethel are among four players placed on the physically unable to perform list by the team in advance of the opening of training camp.

Chiefs: Linebacker Justin Houston (ACL) won’t practice with the team during training camp, coach Andy Reid said.
