S.J. should prioritize developing city parks
While the oped by parks director Angel Rios (“San Jose parks have economic value to city,” Opinion, July 25) was informative, it left out one important fact. Compared to other U.S. cities our size, park acreage in San Jose is sadly lacking. I recall a report a few years ago that indicated we were the 10th most populated city in the United States but ranked about 65th in city parks per resident.
Assuming the city folks agree with the facts in Rios’ article, can we now expect park development to move a little higher on the priority list?
