A Wells Fargo bank located on Homestead Road near Foothill Boulevard was robbed by an unknown person the afternoon of July 19, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sgt. James Jensen, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, who is still at large, was described by witnesses as a white male between 30 and 40 years old, standing 6 feet tall with a medium to heavy build.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket, and was carrying a black bag, Jensen said. Jensen said the suspect came into the bank at about 3 p.m., and told a bank clerk — either verbally or through a note — that he was armed and demanded money.

Jensen could not disclose how much money was taken from the bank. Witnesses interviewed by deputies said the suspect fled on foot. Jensen said that there were no injuries reported from the incident.

“We made sure that all the bank tellers and members of the public that were in the bank were OK,” he said.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public to call detective Justin Harper at 408-808-4631 or the anonymous tip line at 408-808-4431 if they recognize the suspect or have any additional information.
