Pedestrian killed in crash near Tanforan

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car while crossing El Camino Real near the Shops at Tanforan on Saturday evening, according to San Bruno police.

Officers were called at 7:57 p.m. to the 1100 block of El Camino Real on reports of the collision. They found the victim lying in the roadway south of Commodore Drive. The injured person was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of family.

The driver stopped at the scene. Police said the victim was not in a crosswalk when the collision occurred, and the death remains under investigation.
