Hippie trippy
With the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love upon us this year, the fun, funky historians at Wild SF Tours are offering free (or at least pay-what-you-wish) “Free Love Movement” walking tours through the HaightAshbury district nearly every week. The next comes up March 27, when a guitar-toting tour guide will take visitors to some key sites in the famed counterculture district that rocked 1960s America. They’ll stop by spots like the birthplace of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin’s pink apartment and the hippie haven of Panhandle Park. Tripping may be (sort of) free, but reservations are required, so check out www. wildsftours.com. Be sure to wear flowers in your hair.
