It’s time once again for San Francisco Pride, a weekendlong celebration highlighted by the city’s 47th annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Parade and March on Sunday. Here’s a look at this year’s major Pride events. For more information, visit sfpride.org.

LGBT Pride Parade

Political undertones will seep into this year’s parade, which, according to SF Pride, will include “a large collection of resistance groups displeased with the lack of LGBT acceptance and support, and the imminent threats to destroy recent human rights gains.” The Dykes on Bikes and bicycle contingent will still lead off the parade, followed by these “resistance” groups on foot. Among them will be survivors of last June’s Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.

Start time: 10:30 a.m. Route: Along Market Street, starting at Beale Street and running to Eighth Street. Best seats for the Parade: Folks can purchase tickets to sit in the grandstands, which are located on the north side of Market Street, between Seventh and Eighth streets. Tickets are $40. Grandstand gates open at 9:30 a.m. By the numbers: There will be more than 240 parade contingents. Note: Registration has closed for the parade and march.
