Notes: Dustin Johnson headlines the field at Glen Abbey. This is his second straight year playing the Canadian Open. He was runner-up a year ago. … The Canadian Open provided a charter back from England for those in the British Open. … Six of the past seven winners were trailing after 54 holes. … This is the thirdoldest national championship in golf behind the British Open and the U.S. Open. … Lee Trevino and Tiger Woods are the only players to win the U.S. Open, British Open and Canadian Open in the same year. … The tournament first was held at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Glen Abbey Golf Club in 1977. Last event: Scott McCarron won the Contstellation Senior Players Championship.

Notes: This is the second time in four years that Royal Portcawl has hosted the Senior British Open. Langer won in 2014. … Americans had won the tournament 11 out of the past 13years until Broadhurst won last year at Carnoustie. … Six players from the PGA Tour Champions have gone over $1 million in earnings this year. Langer went over $2million with his runner-up finish two weeks ago at the Senior Players. … Tom Watson, a five-time winner of the British Open, is the only three-time winner of the Senior British Open. … This is fifth and final major on the 50-and-older circuit.

Notes: The European Tour played the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links two weeks ago. … This is the first year the Ladies Scottish Open is on the LPGA Tour schedule. It has been part of the Ladies European Tour since 1986. … Lexi Thompson is the only player from the top four in the world ranking who is not at the Scottish Open ahead of next week’s Women’s British Open at Kingsbarn. … Lydia Ko now has gone a full year without winning on the LPGA Tour. … With the addition of the Ladies Scottish Open to the schedule, the LPGA Tour has regular tour events in 14countries.
