River Islands model home tour includes 23 different home styles in Lathrop

When people first visit the River Islands Welcome Center in Lathrop, they are given tour guides that highlight seven different new home neighborho­ods from five Bay Area builders. Each neighborho­od has an architectu­ral style of its own, and varies in square footage, bedroom count, garage configurat­ion and price. Some of the homes are built on lakes, some next to parks or schools. What unifies the homes is the sense of overall community at River Islands, and its land plan, which makes this master-planned community on the San Joaquin River so unique.

River Islands in Lathrop is celebratin­g a lot of changes to the master plan this summer. Two new neighborho­ods have just celebrated their grand openings. A new bridge — the

first in 50 years — now spans the San Joaquin River and connects the community to Interstate 5. A community institutio­n, its lakeside restaurant, has just reopened for brunch, lunch and dinner. New neighborho­od parks are being added to the community’s existing parks and bocce courts.

Single-story homes as well as two-story plans are available, with prices varying from the low $400,000 range and the low $500,000 range. In addition, the community’s developer has just released an offering of custom homesites near the San Joaquin River, for those who desire to build custom or semicustom residences.

Beacon Bay by Kiper Homes is celebratin­g its grand opening. This new neighborho­od, built along the shore of a large lake, features four two-story floor plans ranging from 2,281 square feet to 2,939 square feet with three to five bedrooms.

Latitude by Van Daele Homes is also having a grand opening with all new home designs and model homes. The neighborho­od offers homes ranging from 1,813 square feet to 2,584 square feet with three to six bedrooms.

Sandpointe from Richmond American Homes offers three to six bedrooms and up to 3,560 square feet. Four floor plans, in both single- and twostory designs, are now available.

Tim Lewis Communitie­s, a certified California green builder, is the builder of Crystal Cove. This lakefront enclave of three- to five-bedroom homes has two different single-story plans and two designs for twostory home buyers.

The New Home Company has designed a neighborho­od in the Savannah architectu­ral style, called Tidewater. Its neighborho­od amenities include a large park and lake access. These four- and five-bedroom homes offer up to 3,129 square feet.

Bay Area-based Kiper Homes has four models in its 360 Lakeside home tour. These two-story homes offer three to five bedrooms and range in size from approximat­ely 2,016 square feet to 2,566 square feet. The homes offer an array of flexible options and customizin­g features.

Summer House by Van Daele Homes offers the largest homes within River Islands. Their new plans range in size from 2,939 square feet to 3,812 square feet, with four to six bedrooms. Among the most popular features of Van Daele’s homes are their indoor/ outdoor California rooms.
