Perfect driving record

The Gosafe 268 from Papago is a combination rearview mirror and built-in dash cam that mounts over your existing mirror. It records highresolution video of a 135-degree swath in front of your vehicle. The built-in 2-inch LCD screen shows what’s being recorded (up to eight hours on a continuous loop) onto the included eight-gigabyte SD card. There’s also a built-in motion detector and parking surveillance modes (records a 10-second video burst if your vehicle is bumped into when unattended). The Gosafe 268 begins recording automatically and includes a built-in battery backup in the event that your vehicle loses power. Pick one up for about $140 from one of the resellers listed on the manufacturer’s website, www. papagoinc.com.

Kick the buckets

Washing your vehicle isn’t just a soap-and-water exercise, as evidenced by the color-coded Dual-Bucket Washing System by Grit Guard. The red bucket is for rinsing dirt and grime from your brush or washcloth, while the blue bucket that contains only the clean wash solution. Both feature Grit Guard’s removable inserts that keep the washed-off crud at the bottom of the bucket, reducing the possibility of paint scratches or swirls. Each bucket sits in its own dolly with casters, comes with individual lids and can be linked using a connector plate. A seat cushion that’s included with the kit converts one bucket into a handy stool. The Dual-Bucket System sells for $120 from www.gritguard.com.

Car pool (table) games

Pool tables that resemble early-model Ford Mustangs have been around for a few years. The company that manufacturers them has since created a number of different versions, including the original Shelby GT 350, 1959 Chevrolet Corvette and 1969 Camaro (SS or Z/28). The latest pool table is patterned after the 2017 50th anniversary Chevrolet Camaro. Each 4-by-8-foot slate table is molded from the original car and can be painted to suit the buyer. The tables also have actual working headlights and taillamps and sit on authentic-looking wheels. Prices start at $10,000 plus shipping, but the Corvette will set you back $25,000. A cinch for seatbelts

For drivers who venture off road, participate in parking-lot autocross events, or for those who simply want to be held in place more securely on public roads, factory-installed seatbelts probably allow too much slack. The CG-Lock works somewhat like a professional racing harness — locking the tension of the belt — but won’t interfere with the operation of the factory design. The lock’s metal clip attaches to any three-point seat belt and will allow you to “dial in” as much or as little slack as you need. Installing or removing the device won’t damage the seatbelt’s webbing. Purchase the CG-Lock for $60 at www.cglock.com.
