South Bay/Peninsula athletes of the week Tariq Bracy, Milpitas Sport: Football
Position: Running back
Moved Milpitas a significant step closer to the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division championship, rushing for 213yards and four touchdowns in 25carries as the undefeated Trojans defeated Wilcox 42-17in a first-place showdown. Bracy, who has offers from several Pac-12schools and Notre Dame, scored on runs of 4, 13, 37and 9yards. He also caught a 52-yard screen pass to set up a score.
Julia Devine, Archbishop Mitty Sport: Volleyball

Helped lead the reigning Open Division state champions to West Catholic Athletic League victories over Sacred Heart Cathedral and St. Francis. Finished with 21kills, five digs and three blocks in a 3-1win over St. Francis and 12kills, 15digs and two blocks in a 3-1win over Sacred Heart Cathedral as Mitty improved to 18-4overall and 6-0in league play.
East Bay athletes of the week Robby Rowell, Acalanes Sport: Football
Opened the Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division season by throwing for 311yards and five touchdowns as Acalanes improved to 6-0overall with a 63-14rout of Concord. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound senior has thrown for 1,399yards and 25 touchdowns with only one interception this season. He also has rushed for 157yards and a touchdown for a team that is ranked No. 16by the Bay Area News Group.
Annika Disney, Piedmont Sport: Water polo
Scored 41goals in seven matches, including 12in a 17-9victory over Pinole Valley. Also had eight goals in a 12-11loss to Dougherty Valley and eight goals in an 11-10loss to Berkeley. In addition to the avalanche of goals, Disney, a team captain, had eight assists and 16steals for the week. Among teams that report statistics to MaxPreps, Disney began this week ranked first in the North Coast Section with 81goals and fourth in points with 92.
