Movin’ On Up

Ronnie Rivers, Fresno State football: In a return to the Bay Area, the freshman from Freedom High rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns in 19carries as Fresno State defeated San Jose State 27-10to improve to 3-2on the season. It marked the first 100-yard rushing game of Rivers’ college career.

Emma Leach, University of the Pacific field hockey: The former Gilroy High player is a co-captain for a UOP team that is ranked 22nd nationally by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Leach is rated 16th in the nation in assists per game and also excels in the classroom. Honored as a Division I scholar athlete since her freshman year, she has a 3.7grade-point average and is on schedule to graduate with a degree is speech pathology in May. She will begin a master’s program next fall.
