Joseph Barnes, Gilroy football: The 5-foot-8, 175-pound running back rushed for 232yards in 35carries and scored all five of his team’s touchdowns in a 38-21victory over Menlo as Gilroy capped a 13-0season with a CCS Division V championsh­ip. Dylan Belquist, Los Gatos basketball: Has been a scoring machine to open the season. Finished with 32, 24 and 30 points in three wins last week after scoring a school-record 44in the season opener. Tyler Davis, Christophe­r football: Rushed for 155yards and two touchdowns in 23carries as Christophe­r won its first CCS championsh­ip, defeating Leland 24-7in the Division IV final. Joe Foley, Menlo basketball: Finished with 21points, five assists and three steals in a 59-47victory over Menlo-Atherton. Haley Jones, Archbishop Mitty basketball: Had 24 points, 10rebounds, six blocks and two assists as the defending NorCal Open Division champs began the season with an 86-52 victory on the road over Bishop O’Dowd. Also had 22points in a 66-57victory over Sacramento. Nino Mendoza, Overfelt basketball: Scored 30points on 10-of-15shooting as Overfelt defeated Woodside 60-55. Also had 28points on 10-of-15shooting in a 65-51loss to Milpitas. Max Moody, Willow Glen basketball: Averaged 26.7points as Willow Glen began its season with wins over Del Mar 6825, Leland 71-61 and Mountain View 63-53. Vincent Mossotti, Campolindo football: Caught nine passes for 139yards and two touchdowns in a 42-7victory over Granada in the NCS Division II championsh­ip game. Mallory North, Menlo basketball: Averaged nearly 20points per game as Menlo went 3-0at the Marin Catholic tournament to win the title. Had 20 points in a 67-65 win over St. Ignatius, 17in a 72-48win over Urban-San Francisco and 22 in a 62-36win over Fortuna. Ricardo Ortiz, Cupertino soccer: Scored all three of his team’s goals in a 3-1victory over The King’s Academy. Also scored a goal in a 2-0win over Soquel. Anjali Pursai, Notre Dame-San Jose basketball: Had 21 points and eight rebounds as Notre Dame defeated Soquel 44-34to run its record to 4-0. Also had 32points in a 61-58 win over Leland to begin the week. Isabella Thompson, Las Lomas basketball: Scored 24 points in a 60-48win over Fairfield and 19points in a 56-49 victory over San Lorenzo, helping Las Lomas begin the season with three consecutiv­e victories. Gavin Tomberlin, Half Moon Bay football: Completed 5of 5passes for 137yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 60yards and a touchdown as the Cougars ran their record to 13-0with a 41-9rout of rival Terra Nova in the CCS Open Division III championsh­ip game. John Torchio, Campolindo football: Connected on 20of 29 passes for 280yards and five touchdowns, leading Campolindo to a 42-7victory over Granada in the NCS Division II championsh­ip game. Shane Villaroman, Serra football: Caught 10passes for 69 yards to help Serra win the CCS Open Division II championsh­ip with a 31-30victory over St. Francis. Eduardo Yanez, KIPP San Jose Collegiate soccer: Scored the only goal in a 1-0victory over Woodside Priory and also scored in a 3-2loss to Lynbrook at the Homestead Christmas Cup.
