- By The Associated Press

Seth Jones had a goal an assist, and Joonas Korpisalo made 39 shots to help the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 on Wednesday night.

Lukas Sedlak, PierreLuc Dubois and Alexander Wennberg also scored for the Blue Jackets, who never trailed in snapping a twogame losing streak. The win moved them into tie for second place in a traffic jam of teams battling for the top spot in tough Metropolitan Division.

Korpisalo, starting in place of Sergei Bobrovsky on the first night of a backto-back, allowed a secondperiod goal to Jake Gardiner and another in the third to Mitchell Marner in one of his strongest games of the season.

Toronto (21-14-1) has lost four of its last five. FLAMES 2, BLUES 1 >> Dougie Hamilton scored at 7:57 of the third period to break a 1-1 tie, leading Calgary over St. Louis.

Mike Smith backstopped the Flames, stopping 21 shots. He allowed only Brayden Schenn’s secondperiod power-play goal.

Michael Frolik also scored for Calgary, which moved into third place in the Pacific Division. FLYERS 4, RED WINGS 3 >> Sean Couturier scored off his own rebound to snap a tie early in the third period and Philadelphia won for the seventh time in eight games.

Robert Hagg added his first NHL goal, Dale Weise and Wayne Simmonds also scored as Philadelphia overcame two one-goal deficits. Claude Giroux had three assists, and Brian Elliott made 25 saves. The Flyers finished a five-game homestead 4-1.

Martin Frk and Mike Green had power-play goals, Gustav Nyquist also scored and Jimmy Howard made 27 saves for the Red Wings, who were trying to win three straight for the first time this season.

Islanders going home

The New York Islanders, who moved from their suburban home to Brooklyn in 2015, have won a bid to build a new arena on the grounds of the Belmont Park horse track.

The Islanders beat out a bid from the Major League Soccer’s New York City FC, which envisioned building a stadium on the site in Elmont, just east of New York City.

The Islanders played at the Nassau Coliseum from 1972 until 2015. Fans never fully embraced their new home at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
