Isiah Kendrick, Serra

Class: Senior
Scored four touchdowns, three on the ground, as Serra won its first state football championship with a 38-14victory over Cajon-San Bernardino in the 2-AA final at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium. Kendrick rushed for 110yards and also caught four passes for 70yards, including a 5-yard TD pass to complete the scoring.
Carly Leong, Palo Alto

Class: Senior
Led Palo Alto to wins over Evergreen Valley, Leigh and Willow Glen as the Vikings ended the week with a 4-2 record. She had 24points, eight rebounds and two steals in a 53-45victory over Evergreen Valley, 24points, six rebounds and two steals in a 62-43 win over Leigh and 28 points, 12 rebounds and three steals in a 61-41rout of Willow Glen.
East Bay
Charles Alberty, McClymonds

Position: Receiver/defensive back
Class: Senior
Helped lead his team to a second consecutive state football championship as McClymonds rolled past Golden West-Visalia 42-12for the 5-AA championship. He caught an 11-yard strike from Emoreea Fountain for the game’s first touchdown and also caught a 42-yard touchdown pass and returned a fumble 70yards for a TD in the second quarter. In the fourth quarter, he had an interception.
Haylee Nelson, Newark Memorial

Class: Senior
Led the Cougars to three wins last week as they ran their record to 5-0. Nelson began the week by scoring 25 points and grabbing 17rebounds in a 60-56overtime win over Santa Clara. Two days later, she had 19points, 23rebounds and three blocked shots in a 47-43victory over Hayward. Saturday, she had 20 points to lead all scorers and 13 rebounds in a 65-23 win over Santa Cruz.
