Klara Astrom and Hannah Jump, Pinewood basketball: Astrom scored 17 points, and Jump added 15 as Pinewood edged Cardinal Newman 53-52in a rematch of last season’s Northern California Open Division semifinal, which Cardinal Newman won 59-57.

Tate Bossert, Las Lomas wrestling: Recorded three pins on his way to winning the 172-pound division at the Bill Martell Invitation­al.

Tariq Bracy, Milpitas football: Notre Dame-bound star rushed for 264yards as Milpitas won its first state championsh­ip, beating Southwest-El Centro 45-41in the Division 4-A state championsh­ip game. He rushed for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and returned a punt for a touchdown and also scored on a two-point play.

David Coker, Serra football: Rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown in 13carries to help lead Serra to a 38-14victory over Cajon-San Bernardino in the Division 2-AA state championsh­ip game in Sacramento. Coker’s 1-yard run late in the third quarter broke a 14-14tie.

Willie Harts III, Pittsburg football: Though it didn’t end as he and his teammates hoped, Harts had a terrific game in the Division I-A state final, catching touchdown passes for 21and 40yards and intercepti­ng a pass in the Pirates’ 28-21loss to Narbonne at Sacramento State.

Chase Hofmann, Half Moon Bay football: Rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns in 30carries In a heartbreak­ing 4442loss to Steele Canyon-Canyon Spring in the Division 3-A state championsh­ip game in Chula Vista, Half Moon Bay’s only defeat on the season.

Haley Jones, Archbishop Mitty basketball: Scored 23 points on 9-of-9shooting as Mitty, the reigning Northern California Open Division champion, stayed undefeated with an 80-29 rout of McClatchy.

Jarmar Julian, McClymonds football: Rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns in 13carries, including an 83-yard scoring run in the third quarter, as McClymonds won its second consecutiv­e CIF state championsh­ip with a 42-12victory over Golden West-Visalia in the 5-AA title game.

Edmond Lahlouh, Serra football: Linebacker was credited with 14tackles, including four behind the line of scrimmage, and 2.5sacks as Serra’s defense turned in what coach Patrick Walsh described as a “masterpiec­e” in a 38-14victory over Cajon-San Bernardino in the Division 2-AA state championsh­ip game.

Shelley Ly, KIPP San Jose basketball: The freshman averaged 21points over three games — all victories — as KIPP ran its record to 6-1on the season. Ly is averaging 17.1points, 3.8 assists and 4.4steals per game.

Josiah Monjares, Las Lomas wrestling: Won the 140-pound weight division at the Bill Martell Invitation­al, pinning three opponents.

Emmily Patneaud, Newark Memorial wrestling: Won all of her matches in the 144-pound weight class at the Women’s West Coast Tournament of Champions in Rocklin, helping her team place third. More than 400wrestle­rs competed in the two-day tournament, touted as the only all-female tournament nationally that showcases high school and college wrestlers. Gilbert Posadas, Richmond basketball: Scored 22points in a win over Tennyson and 25in a loss to Irvington. Richmond began this week 5-4 on the season.

Kairee Robinson, De La Salle football: Playing on a broken foot in his final high school game, Robinson rushed for 101yards and two touchdowns in 15carries as the Spartans lost to Mater Dei 52-21in the Open Division state final at Sacramento State. Will Turpin and Kyle Yu, Saratoga basketball: Each scored 22points as Saratoga edged rival and previously undefeated Los Gatos 68-67 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

April Tuason, Capuchino basketball: Scored 21points in back-to-back games, a win over Galileo and a loss to Swett. Evan J Williams, St. Francis football: Caught two passes, both for touchdowns, in the Division 2-A state championsh­ip game as St. Francis edged Grace Brethren-Simi Valley 22-13. Williams’ catch in the corner of the end zone late in the fourth quarter iced the game.

Gianna Zades, Lincoln-San Jose soccer: Zades, a 4.0student and a team captain, scored three goals in the first half a tournament win over Latino College Preparator­y Academy. The junior then scored twice in an eight-minute span in the second half as Lincoln defeated rival San Jose 3-0.
