Innovation and commitment – the keys to an award-winning workplace

-

Many Silicon Valley employers are known for offering perks and great benefits, so what does it take to stand out amongst these companies? Sage Intacct is a consistent award winner for our workplace culture, and we have found that a truly great corporate culture is only possible through innovative programs and a strong commitment from the top down.

At Sage Intacct, the innovation and customer satisfaction leader in cloud financial management solutions, we have a long history of winning workplace awards. Our focus on employee satisfaction isn’t something new that we’ve adopted to be competitive in the current job market; rather, it has been an integral part of the company culture since we were founded. The management team recognized early on that happy, fulfilled employees were the key to customer satisfaction, so the two have always gone hand-in-hand for us.

Just last month, Sage Intacct received two awards for employee health and wellness – one of the biggest trends in measuring an employer’s commitment to its employees’ well-being. We were recognized as one of the 2017 Bay Area Healthiest Employers, an awards program presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal to acknowledge organizations for their commitment to employee health with exceptional corporate wellness programs. This award was based on evaluations across a number of key categories, including culture and leadership, strategic planning, communication and marketing, foundational components and programming, interventions, and reporting and analytics.

The second award, from the National Association for Business Resources, named Sage Intacct as one of the Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness for 2017. This program honors companies and organizations that recognize and celebrate quality and excellence in employee and worksite health. The 2017 winning companies were evaluated by an assessment that examined outcomes, analysis and tracking, participation and incentives, benefits and programs, leadership, employee input, culture, and environment.

“Sage Intacct recognizes that healthy employees are happy employees, and our organization has long placed an importance on wellness and holistic health. It’s an honor to be recognized for this value,” said Rob Reid, managing director and executive vice president of Sage Intacct. “We look forward to maintaining a workplace where health and wellness are a priority, and empowering each individual with the tools to be their best selves.”

While initiatives like quarterly wellness challenges and an overall focus on work/life balance highlight our focus on employee health and well-being, we have always had a strong commitment to all aspects of employee satisfaction. From social and teambuilding events to ongoing training and advancement opportunities, Sage Intacct has succeeded in creating an overall company culture that provides each employee with the encouragement and tools to achieve their goals. This has led to consistently high employee satisfaction ratings, as well as an employee retention rate that is uncommonly high amongst Silicon Valley companies.

“Sage Intacct has been built on the tenet that our organization’s success is tied to the development and satisfaction of our employees. Ensuring that each Sage Intacct employee has the tools and resources they need to succeed, and receives recognition for these achievements, is one of our top priorities,” said Reid. “We know if we have employees empowered to achieve success, it will support our overarching goal of superb customer satisfaction.”

Sage Intacct is also known for taking a lead in innovative employment programs. Earlier this year, we partnered with Path Forward, a non-profit agency that is dedicated to helping experienced professionals reenter the workforce after taking a break in their careers for caregiving. The program offers full-time, 16week “returnship” programs for experienced professionals returning to the workforce. Similar to internships, returnships require candidates to have a minimum of five years of professional work experience with a minimum of a two-year gap. Of all the participating companies in the Bay Area, Sage Intacct had the highest number of returnships offered. With unwavering support from our executive team,
