Soon after recovering from a broken ankle suffered attempting a “Mission: Impossible” stunt last summer, Tom Cruise may have hurt himself again trying to do another stunt for the action franchise.

TMZ on Wednesday posted a video showing the 55-year-old Cruise in London filming “Mission: Impossible 6.” In the clip, Cruise attempts to run up to a window and leap out of it. He’s wearing a harness as he tries to jump up to the window’s ledge, but for some reason he doesn’t make it and falls back. Through the window, he appears to struggle to stand up afterward.

A cameraman on the scene told TMZ that Cruise was later seen using crutches, but there are no photos of this and there have been no reports on TMZ or elsewhere that confirm that Cruise suffered an injury.

Still, as TMZ said, maybe it’s time for Cruise to finally give up on the idea that he can do a lot of his own stunts at his age.

Last August, Cruise was filming another scene for the film and broke his ankle trying to do a stunt that involved him jumping between two buildings with the assistance of a safety harness.

Production on the movie was halted as Cruise’s ankle healed. The film is due for release in July.

It’s not known when production resumed, but TMZ said Cruise actually performed the same stunt last week that he was attempting in the TMZ video posted Wednesday, with him jumping out of a window. On the previous attempt, he “nailed it,” TMZ said.

Cruise is something of a rarity among Hollywood actors for insisting on performing many of his own stunts. In 2011, the actor scaled the outside of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, currently the world’s tallest building, for a scene from “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol.”

For 2015’s “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” he was attached to the exterior of an Airbus 400 as it took off. Cruise also performed inside a zero-gravity plane for the recent reboot of “The Mummy.”
