Canadiens stop Avalanche streak

Colorado’s 10-game run halted as Drouin leads Montreal effort

Jonathan Drouin had a goal and two assists for Montreal, which beat Colorado 4-2 on Tuesday night to end the Avalanche’s 10game winning streak.

Nicolas Deslaurier­s, Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher also scored for the Canadiens, and Carey Price made 20 saves for his 14th win of the season.

Nathan MacKinnon and J.T. Compher scored late in the third period for the Avalanche, who lost for the first time in 2018.

Jonathan Bernier stopped 36 shots but dropped to 0-7-2 in Montreal. The former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie is 1-10-3 vs. the Canadiens.

Montreal outshot Colorado 40-22 and won for only the second time in six games.

BRUINS 3, DEVILS 2 >> Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist to help Boston beat New Jersey.

Patrice Bergeron and Riley Nash also scored for the Bruins, who won improved to 13-0-4 in their last 17 games.

Miles Wood and Damon Severson scored for the Devils, who have lost three straight in regulation for the first time this season. FLYERS 3, RED WINGS 2 (OT) >> Travis Konecny scored 27 seconds into overtime to lift Philadelph­ia over Detroit.

Jakub Voracek scored a tiebreakin­g goal in the last minute of the second period and assisted on Andrew MacDonald’s goal late in the first for the Flyers, who have won 16 of 22.

Jonathan Ericsson and Frans Nielsen scored for the Red Wings. PENGUINS 3, HURRICANES 1 >> Dominik Simon and JeanSebast­ien Dea scored 76 seconds apart in the second period, and fellow rookie Casey DeSmith made 34 saves in Pittsburgh’s victory over Carolina.

Jake Guentzel added a goal midway through the third and Sidney Crosby extended the NHL’s longest active point streak to eight games for the Penguins, who have won six of eight.

Derek Ryan had the goal for the Hurricanes. BLUES 3, SENATORS 0 >> Carter Hutton made 25 saves for his 10th career shutout and St. Louis got goals from Vladimir Sobotka and Vladimir Tarasenko in its victory over Ottawa.

The Blues have earned at least one point in 11 of their last 12 games against Ottawa, which lost its fourth in a row overall. LIGHTNING 4, PREDATORS 3 (OT) >> Yanni Gourde scored 1:45 into overtime to give Tampa Bay a victory over Nashville.

Chris Kunitz had a goal and two assists, and Vladislav Namestniko­v and Steven Stamkos also scored as the NHL-leading Lightning won their second straight.

Ryan Ellis, Viktor Arvidsson and P.K. Subban scored for the Predators, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.

STARS 6, PANTHERS 1 >> Alexander Radulov had two goals and an assist to lead Dallas past Florida.

Devin Shore had a goal and an assist, and Jamie Benn, Mattias Janmark and Tykler Pitlick also scored for the Stars, who improved to 4-0-1 in their last five games.

Aaron Ekblad scored for the Panthers.

SABRES 5, OILERS 0 >> Jack Eichel had a goal and three assists, and Ryan O’Reilly scored twice in Buffalo’s victory over Edmonton.

Cam Talbot stopped 18 of 22 shots before Al Montoya relieved for the Oilers, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
