Asha Thomas also finished with 12 points, and Penina Davidson added 10 for Cal, which controlled the glass 51-30. It was Anigwe’s seventh double-double of the season.

Cal (15-5, 6-3 Pac-12) never trailed and dominated the second quarter, holding Arizona to just three points while scoring 19 to take a 38-17 lead into the intermission. It was the fewest points allowed in any quarter all season for the Bears as Arizona went 1 for 13 from the field during the 10 minute run to the

half. Destiny Graham had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Arizona (5-15, 1-8). STANFORD 74, ARIZONA

McPhee came into the game needing 14 points to reach the milestone and accomplished it on a jumper with 8:13 remaining, putting her team ahead by 20 and helping Stanford (13-8, 7-2 Pac-12) avenge a loss to the Sun Devils earlier this month.

Robbi Ryan scored 11 points to lead Arizona State (14-7, 5-4). Kianna Ibis, the Sun Devils’ leading scorer who came in averaging 13.8 points, managed just two points. Men

MICHIGAN STATE 71, WISCONSIN 62 >> Miles Bridges scored 24 points, and the sixth-ranked Spartans beat the Badgers. The Spartans (19-3, 7-2 Big Ten) have won three straight after losing two of the previous three games. Wisconsin (10-12, 3-6) has lost five of six.

ACC SHOWDOWN >> Secondranked Virginia travels to No. 4 Duke today. The lone regular-season meeting of these top-five teams qualifies as the game of the year in the conference at least, so far. The first-place Cavaliers (19-1, 8-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) bring an 11-game winning streak into Cameron Indoor Stadium, where they haven’t won since 1995. Few have kept it competitive there this season against the Blue Devils, with all but one of their home wins coming by double figures. Duke (18-2,

6-2) has the nation’s top offense, averaging nearly 92 points, while Virginia has the top defense in Division I, allowing fewer than 52 points per game. UCONN UNDER INVESTIGATION >> The University of Connecticut is the target of an NCAA investigation into its men’s basketball program.

University President Susan Herbst said in a statement the school will cooperate in a “thorough and transparent manner reflective of the model athletic and academic institution we continually strive to be.”

The university didn’t specify the allegations and said it would have no further comment, but would “address and respond appropriately as the inquiry moves forward.”

Hearst Connecticut Media, which first reported the investigation, cited unidentified sources saying the inquiry was related to recruiting. The school said it had begun an NCAA mandated internal review of the men’s basketball program this fall amid an FBI investigation into alleged corruption in college basketball. NEW DEAL FOR ARKANSAS’

ANDERSON >> Arkansas has signed basketball coach Mike Anderson to a twoyear extension through the 2021-22 season.

The new deal could keep Anderson, in his seventh season with the Razorbacks, at Arkansas through his 11th season. Anderson has led the Razorbacks to the NCAA tournament twice in the past three seasons.
