Wichita State pulls offaroadSh­ocker

Landry Shamut scored 19 points, and No. 19 Wichita State ended the nation’s longest home-court winning streak, beating No. 5 Cincinnati 76-72 on Sunday to leave the American Athletic Conference race wide open.

The Shockers (21-5, 11-3) beat a Top 5 team on the road for the first time since 1964. They led most of the way, building an 11-point lead midway through the second half and holding on. Shaquille Morris’ dunk with 5 seconds left finished it off.

The Bearcats (23-4, 12-2) had their 39-game home-court winning streak snapped. Cincinnati hasn’t beaten a ranked team all season, falling to 0-3 with losses to Xavier and Florida.

Shamut had 16 points in the first half, when the Shockers shredded the nation’s second-ranked defense to take control.

PURDUE 76, PENN STATE 73 >> Carsen Edwards scored 27 points to lead the No. 6 Boilermake­rs past the Nittany Lions.

Dakota Mathias added 18 points and Isaac Haas had 12 points and six rebounds for Purdue (24-5, 13-3 Big Ten), which snapped a seasonwors­t three-game skid. MICHIGAN 74, OHIO STATE 62 >> Jordan Poole scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half to help the No. 22 Wolverines take the lead, and they never trailed in the second half against the No. 8 Buckeyes.

The Wolverines (22-7, 11-5 Big Ten) beat a rival and helped out another rival, giving No. 2 Michigan State a one-game lead atop the conference standings with two games left in the regular season.

The Buckeyes (22-7, 13-3) have fallen out of first place by losing consecutiv­e Big Ten games for the first time this season.

DUKE 66, CLEMSON 57 >> Gary Trent Jr. hit three foul shots with 1:31 left to put the No. 12 Blue Devils ahead for good against the No. 11 Tigers.

Duke (22-5, 10-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) won its third straight game without Marvin Bagley III Bagley, its leading scorer and rebounder who’s sidelined because of a strained right knee.

Women

MISSOURI 77, TENNESSEE 73 >> Sophie Cunningham scored 12 of her 32 points in the fourth quarter and the No. 13 Tigers held on to beat the No. 11 Volunteers.

The Tigers (22-5, 10-4 Southeaste­rn Conference) made 12 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter but the two misses came in the final minute, giving the Lady Vols (21-6, 9-5) a chance.

Jordan Frericks fouled Rennia Davis on a 3-point attempt with 1.4 seconds left. Davis missed the first free throw and made the second before deliberate­ly missing the third. Missouri got the rebound and iced the game on two Cunningham free throws with less than a second remaining.

LOUISVILLE 67, NORTH CAROLINA 57 >> Asia Durr scored 19 points to help the fourth-ranked Cardinals rally past the Tar Heels.

SOUTH FLORIDA 77, CENTRAL FLORIDA 68 >> Kitija Laksa scored 32 points, Maria Jespersen had a double-double and the No. 22 Bulls turned back the Knights in overtime.

OREGON STATE 69, USC 63 >> Marie Gulich had 25 points and nine rebounds and the No. 15 Beavers beat the Trojans.
