Bobby Brown reaches out to Nick Gordon’s girlfriend
Bobby Brown has reached out to the girlfriend of Nick Gordon, the man found “legally responsible” for the death of Brown’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, after Gordonwas arrested on domestic violence charges over the weekend.
Brown is offering Laura Leal assistance through the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House, a nonprofit organization founded for and named after the only shared child between Brown and Whitney Houston.
“Domestic violence killed my daughter, and onMarch 4, 2018, the Bobbi Kristina Brown Serenity House held our first event to strike back at domestic violence. I personallywould like to extend my hand toMs. Leal and offer her services through our organization,” Brown said in a statement, according to UsWeekly.
Gordon, 29, was taken into custody early Saturday morning. He called 911 from his Florida home to report an altercation with Leal. “My girlfriend is acting insane on me right now,” he said on the emergency call with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, whichwas obtained by TheBlast. “I feel so lamebecause I’mgetting beat up by awoman,” he said. “She just threw a bottle. Please.”
Police arrived at the scene, but determined Gordon was the aggressor.
According to the police report obtained by Us Weekly, officers observed a swollen lipwith dried blood on Leal, but she refused to press charges or seek medical treatment. She told police that Gordon struck her several times as she was driving him home from a bar, and that the argument continued at his residence.
Gordon was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court in early April. He was previously arrested for battery against Leal in June 2017.
Gordon was 22-year-old BobbiKristina Brown’s boyfriend when she was found unresponsive in a bathtub full of water in January 2015. Toxicology reports said drugswere found in her system. She was in a coma for six months and died after being taken off life support.
Her estate filed a wrongful death suit against Gordon, alleging he placed her in the tub after a violent altercation and that he injected her with drugs.
Gordon was found “legally responsible” for her death when he failed to show up for court, and was ordered to pay $36million.
