TENDING TO HOPE
Piper Zacharisen, 10, right, and Ava Vojnik, 11, left, place a “kindness rock” in a garden at Bright Horizons early education and preschool in San Jose on Monday. The children painted the rocks to symbolize kindness and share what it means to them. Bright Horizons also runs an afterschool program for older kids. The Kindness Rocks Project was founded by Megan Murphy, of Barnstable, Mass., in 2015, and now spans seven continents.
