SOUTH BAY/PENINSULA RileyWoods­on, Menlo Sport: Basketball Position: Forward Class: Senior

Helped lead 13th-seeded Menlo into the CIF Northern California Division I semifinals. He had 22points and 13rebounds as the Knightswen­t on the road and beat Central-Fresno 64-56in the quarterfin­als. A round earlier, Woodson had 31points and 19rebounds to propel Menlo to a 64-56victory at fourth-seeded Clayton Valley Charter 65-61. Woodson is averaging 13.9points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

Amanda Inserra, St. Francis Sport: Basketball Position: Forward Class: Senior

On the road Saturday night against third-seeded St. Joseph Notre Dame, Inserra scored 17points and grabbed 14rebounds as St. Francis won 57-51to advance to the Northern California Division I semifinals. It was Inserra’s fifth double-double of the season. In the previous round, she had 20rebounds and nine points to help lead 11thseeded St. Francis past sixth-seeded Bear Creek 54-50.

EAST BAY Ryan Cibull, Alameda Sport: Basketball

Position: Guard

Class: Senior

On a weekend in which high-profile top seeds did not advance, Alameda, the No. 1seed in Division II, moved past the quarterfin­al round behind Cibull’s long-distance shooting. The senior sank six 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 24points as the Hornets, playing on their home court, defeated ninth-seeded Los Gatos 7463in the Northern California regionals. “I focus on getting open, getting to my spot and focusing on my form,” Cibull said.

Megan Edelman, Monte Vista Sport: Soccer Position: Midfielder Class: Sophomore

Edelman finished her sophomore season with a teamleadin­g 21goals, none bigger than the one she had in the second half Saturday on her team’s home field in Danville. With the game scoreless in the inaugural Northern California Division I championsh­ip match against Archbishop Mitty, the UCLA commit scored the goal that gave national No. 1Monte Vista a 1-0victory over the Central Coast Section power. Edelman also had 10assists on the season as Monte Vista finished 25-1-1.
