Experience the history of San Jose’s Naglee Park
NAGLEE PARK VINTAGE HOME TOUR >> The San Jose Woman’s Club hosts the sixth biennial Naglee Park Vintage Home Tour in downtown San Jose April 21. This event is a bit unusual because all seven of the properties are located within two adjacent blocks of the historic district. Folks park a single time, walk a short way to homes and take in the beauty. More than a thousand attendees are expected.
In between tours, shop at the Treasure Boutique of vendors, have a gourmet boxed lunch or light refreshments in a garden setting. Historian April Halberstadt speaks to all ticket holders at the Refreshment Garden at 1 p.m.
Proceeds go towards improving the 1929 Spanish Revival landmark clubhouse designed by San Jose architects Wolfe and Higgins. BOTTLE SOCIETY ANTIQUES SHOW >> The 52nd annual Golden Gate Historical Bottle Society Antiques and Collectibles Show and Sale occurs April 14. If you have ever wondered what our old flask or jug is worth, bring them along for a free assessment.

PLANTS AND MORE >> The Morgan Hill Flower Lover’s Club — founded back in 1925 — has its yearly Flower Show and Plant Sale April 28-29. After you ogle fragrant blossoms, rest with a cup of tea, or select from assorted plant specimens.
I will be in attendance for evaluations of your estate sale finds, or to hobnob, on April 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first appraisal runs $5. Additional ones cost $10 with a limit of three per person.
Funds raised help with club activities in the community.

THE FRENCH MARKET RETURNS >> The first of the season’s outdoor antique shows in San Rafael takes place April 8. The French Market — now in its eighth season — is scheduled for the second Sunday of each month until Oct. 7.
Listen to live music as you stroll through the aisles filled with all types of vintage goodies. It’s easy to imagine you are at a European street fair, especially as you indulge in fresh crepes.

GOAT HILL FAIR >> The Goat Hill Fair held in Watsonville is set for May 19-20. The sale, held in May and November, has become one of Northern California’s hottest events.
