Francis Xavier Sulgit, age 86 and resident of Burlingame, California, passed away on December 7th.

Frank is survived by his children Steve (Terri) Sulgit, Kathleen (Dennis) Sulgit, Brian Sulgit, Ann (Eric) Matthiesse­n, Kevin (Phet) Sulgit, Donald (Lorna) Sulgit, Tina Bozarth and Brad Laczny, grandchild­ren Steven, Liana, Robert, Jesse, Nick, Chris, Tim, Soleil, Jorah, great grandchild­ren Olivia, Deanna, Payton and Brenden, sisters Bernadette (Martin) Knelman, Mary (Bob) Mallon, Rosalie Shay, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his son, David, his grandson, David, and brothers Greg (Rita), Vincent (Terry) and Julian (Patricia).

Frank was born and raised in Chicago. He attended St. Wenceslaus and De Paul Academy. Following graduation from high school, Frank joined the Airforce, Qying training missions during the Korean ConQict, where he developed his love of airplanes. Upon discharge from the Airforce, he brieQy joined Motorola, then went to work for United Airlines, working his way up from mechanic to Supervisor and Quality Assurance Specialist during his 38 year tenure, where he loved traveling the world.

Frank loved to sing and dance, and enjoyed performing in community theatre with the Santa Clara Players and the San Mateo Performing Arts Center.

A lifelong golfer, he developed his love for the sport as a caddy at Tam O’Shanter Golf and Country Club in Niles, Illinois where he delighted in telling stories about the time he caddied for the Chicago Mob. He golfed as often as he could, and upon his retirement from United, he worked as a starter at Crystal Springs Golf Course where he was known to hunt down errant golf balls, which he collected, sorted, and gave out to his friends and family.

Services were held for Frank at Our Lady of Angels in Burlingame at 11am on Tuesday, December 19th. He will be forever in our hearts.
