BFD concert moves to Concord in May, with Blink-182 in lineup

For years, the annual BFD concert has been held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View.

This year, the incredibly popular concert is coming to Concord.

The 25th annual BFD is set for May 13 at the Concord Pavilion.

Yes, that date is a lot earlier than usual for the show. But that’s how it worked out for 2018, given the availability of the acts.

And promoters certainly have landed a whopper of a lineup for the show.

Headlining the gig is multiplatinum pop-punk act Blink-182, an act that can sell out major arenas and stadiums on its own. The group also made news of late when it announced an upcoming Las Vegas residency.

The bill also includes indie-rockers The War on Drugs, as well as Dirty Heads, Awolnation, James Bay, Judah and the Lion, Bishop Briggs, Aja, Nothing But Thieves, Cemetery Sun and Mt. Eddy.

The concert also will feature rising electropop star Billie Eilish, who performed a sold-out show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco in March.

Tickets are $44-$84 and go on sale at noon Friday at www.livenation.com.

The move to Concord was necessary due to Shoreline having already been booked for use for the Google I/O developers conference.

BFD is expected to return to the Mountain View venue in 2019.

The concert is hosted by radio station The New Alt 105.3, formerly known as Live 105.3.
