Chappelle and Mayer team up for shows

- — Jim Harrington, Staff

Looking to see a concert in the Bay Area this week? Here are your best bets:

Controlled Danger: You may not recognize the act’s name. But we trust that you’ll recognize its members – John Mayer and Dave Chappelle. See what the pop-rock star and the famed comedian have cooking when they bring Controlled Danger to The Fillmore in San Francisco for a two-night stand Saturday and Sunday, then to The Masonic in San Francisco on Monday (the third show was added due to high demand). Details: All shows 9 p.m.; $103; www. livenation.com.

The Fratellis: This is the band that gave the world “Chelsea Dagger,” which hockey fans know as the song that is played whenever the Chicago Blackhawks score a goal at home. Blackhawks fans (this author included) didn’t get to hear that song nearly enough during the 20172018 season. So, maybe we need to go see the band play it at the Fillmore on Monday. Details: 8 p.m.; $25; www.livenation.com.

Django Django: The British art-rock act is out supporting its latest album, “Marble Skies,” and performs Saturday at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Details: 9 p.m.; $26-$31; www. slimspresents.com.

Japandroids: This solid Canadian garage-rock act returns in support of its third studio effort, 2017’s “Near to the Wild Heart of Life,” and performs Monday and Tuesday at the Independent in San Francisco. Details: 8 p.m.; $22-$25; www.ticketfly.com.
