July 25, 1949 - April 26, 2018 San Mateo

A celebration of life will be held on July 28 in Menlo Park for Julie Ann Bratsberg, who passed away on April 26, 2018.

She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in art history. Julie worked for many years at SRI International in Menlo Park, concluding her time there as an associate epidemiologist in the Center for Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health. In later years, she worked as a clinical research trial monitor for several pharmaceutical companies.

Julie was a prolific gardener and wonderful cook. She was a tireless and creative volunteer with the Junior League of Palo Alto, Atherton Dames, Peninsula Volunteers, and Friends of Filoli until her health precluded her from doing so.

Julie was predeceased by her parents, Robert Bratsberg (1997) and Marie Ledbetter Bratsberg (2017). She is survived by her sister, Robin Riviello, of Santa Cruz, brother, Bob Bratsberg, of Los Molinas, California, and her niece and nephews, Stephanie, Jameson, Nicholas, and Christopher Riviello, all of Santa Cruz. She is also survived by Barbara Bratsberg-Hill and Chuck Hill (Seattle); Andrew Hill and Shawn Barile (Marin County); and Talmadge Ledbetter (Longview, Washington).

Julie was greatly assisted in recent months by Linda and James Bibbler of Woodside. Her life was enriched by many devoted friends and colleagues, most notably Linda Harrison (Belmont, California) and Peter Perthou (Annisquam, Massachusetts).
