Cena, Bella together again, but how long?
John Cena has apparently succeeded — for now — in his campaign to win back Nikki Bella, with the two World Wrestling Entertainment superstars spotted together in San Diego over the weekend and a source telling People that “they’re basically back together.”
But the question is whether they have fully resolved the issues that led to Bella, 34, calling off their wedding a few weeks before the scheduled May ceremony.
According to the rumor mill, the couple’s differences over starting a family was a main reason for their engagement falling apart. The “Total Bellas” star wanted children, but Cena made no secret that being a dad was not in his plans.
“This was never really about ending their relationship — it was about calling off a wedding because something didn’t feel right,” a source told People. “It was a wedding that was entered into under false pretenses. She was pretending she was OK with not having a kid, he was pretending he absolutely couldn’t and wouldn’t budge on that point.”
Last week, Cena, 41, declared that he had changed his mind about having kids. During an interview on the “Today” show, the “Blockers” actor told Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford: “I still love Nicole. I would love to marry Nicole, I still would love to have a family with Nicole. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended.”
Cena reportedly refused Bella’s offer to take back his Tiffany & Co. engagement ring, according to Us Weekly. “Nikki loves the ring but didn’t want to keep it because she had been the one to call off the wedding,” a source told Us Weekly.
But if Cena and Bella are back together, does that mean she has slipped the ring back on her finger?
That’s not known, but Bella previously told People that she never stopped talking to Cena and that she was open to a reconciliation.
“They never stopped talking,” a source told People.
