Jessica Erin Hotchkiss

Jessica E. Hotchkiss, age 37, passed away Monday morning as the result of an auto accident. She was born in Lodi, California, to Mary Judith and Robert J.L. Silva. She graduated from Santa Teresa High School, San Jose, California in 1999. Jessica was very proud of her accomplishments as a cheerleader and then as a cheer coach/ choreographer attaining the National Cheerleading Championship. She became a Manager at Roundtable Pizza and subsequently entered the funeral profession at Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose, CA. Jessica’s loving, caring and dedicated personality helped her to excel and she became the Funeral Home Manager at Lima Family Sunnyvale Mortuary and an Assistant Funeral Home Manager at Cedar Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park. She married Charles (Chuck) Hotchkiss at Seascape in Aptos, California on November 25, 2006. In 2016 Chuck and Jessica moved to Clinton, Tennessee where they began to build a house and she worked as a Funeral Assistant for Berry Funeral Home in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jessica enjoyed meeting and getting to know people, had a passion for music, the beach and quoting movie lines. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Judith Silva. Jessica is survived by her husband, Charles J. Hotchkiss; stepdaughter, Amanda E. Hotchkiss; father, Robert J.L. Silva, all of Clinton, Tennessee; brother Robert J. Silva and wife Kristie; niece, Hope Silva, all of San Jose, California; grandmother, Joan Kniseley of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends 5:00pm7:00pm, Friday, June1, 2018 at Berry Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37932 with a celebration of life service to follow at 7:00pm. Reverend Danny Davis officiating. Private Entombment service will occur Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
