James Riley Shoaf III “Jim” 79, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. He was born in Morgantown, W. Virginia, February 14, 1939. He was one of two sons born to the late Doris Runner Shoaf and James Riley Shoaf II. Jim was employed at Lockheed Missiles and Space in Sunnyvale, CA as a Computer Engineer for 26 years. He attended W. Virginia University, and was in the ROTC. He graduated from San Jose State with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineerin­g in June 1977. He also served 4 years in the United States Air Force.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Claire Shoaf of 32 years, and is also survived by his Brother, John Richard Shoaf, of Morgantown, W. Virginia.

Jim was a loving caring man and shared a special and close relationsh­ip with his wife, Claire. They were soulmates and enjoyed their many timeshare vacations, theater, YMCA, walks, and just being together.

Jim touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor till the end. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be forever remembered. Claire would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Kaiser Hospital for their care of Jim.
