-

Anthony Rizzo homered down the right-field line on the first pitch of a five-run 11th inning to help the Chicago Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-2 on Monday night in Milwaukee and jump into first place in the NL Central.

Rizzo turned on a fastball down the middle from Matt Albers (3-2) for a towering shot that snapped a 2-all tie. The Cubs scored four more runs in the inning with two outs, including a two-run double by Jason Heyward.

Trailing 2-1 most of the night, the Cubs scored six times over the last four innings against the Brewers’ normally lights-out bullpen. Chicago took a halfgame lead and won its seventh straight over Milwaukee.

Randy Rosario (3-0) retired all six batters he faced for the win. RED SOX 2, ORIOLES 0 (12 INNINGS) >> Brock Holt and Jackie Bradley Jr. each delivered a sacrifice fly in the 12th inning, and visiting Boston limited Baltimore to five hits. A pitching duel between Dylan Bundy and Steven Wright was ultimately decided long after both starters departed.

Michael Brantley hit his 11th homer, Yan Gomes had a two-run double and the AL Central leaders took advantage of another wild outing by Lucas Giolito (4-7) to win for the fifth time in six games. RAYS 8, BLUE JAYS 4 >> Jake Bauers hit his first career home run to put host Tampa Bay ahead in the fourth inning. Bauers’ two-run homer off Sam Gaviglia (2-2) after Matt Duffy’s single erased a 4-3 Toronto lead. DIAMONDBACKS 9, PIRATES 5 >> Arizona scored two runs on wild pitches in the eighth inning, Jake Lamb hit a tying three-run homer in the seventh, and the Diamondbacks rallied to win in Phoenix.
