OAKLAND » Yet another video of people behaving poorly in the Bay Area is making the rounds on social media.

This time, it’s of a man calling the police on a fellow BART rider for eating on the train.

And while he is no #PermitPatty, #BBQBecky or #JoggerJoe, he is the latest to pay the viral price for getting into another person’s business.

Uploaded to Reddit on Sunday, the video depicts a man dressed in a Hawaiian shirt berating another man for flouting BART’s rule against eating and drinking on the train.

“You can’t wait?” the man in the Hawaiian shirt asks, his tone incredulous.

“The sign says no eating and drinking,” he continues. “You don’t get it. You must be stupid. I’ve seen people like you on TV.”

The man in the Hawaiian shirt then gets up, walks to an intercom and calls for an officer.

“We’ve got someone dining in the first car,” he says.

“He’s dining,” he clarifies for the obviously confused call taker. “Eating on the train.”

The other passengers, meanwhile, do not appear to be bothered that someone is eating.

“You eat your burrito,” one says.

“Enjoy that (expletive)” another intones.

As the burrito eater prepares to disembark at the Coliseum station, a woman remarks to the man in the Hawaiian shirt, “You must not ride BART much.”

The man in the Hawaiian shirt insists that he does. The woman and others tell him to maybe instead worry about those who openly do drugs at BART stations and on trains.

“This is not our concern,” the woman says about the burrito eater. “He is not our concern.”

The sentiment was shared by a number of those who commented on the video, which was posted in the SF Bay Area subreddit.

“Mind your own damn business and let the man eat his burrito in peace,” one person wrote.

“I like rule followers, personally, but rule enforcers are another thing entirely, and this guy needs to let it rest,” wrote another. “Also, he’s lucky the burrito eater is another white guy, or he’d be hounded out of his job by Monday.”

The comment appeared to be in reference to Alison Ettel, also known as #PermitPatty, who resigned as CEO of San Francisco cannabis edibles company Treatwell Health after a video surfaced Saturday of her allegedly calling the police on an 8-year-old girl selling water outside of AT&T Park.

The man in the Hawaiian shirt found some support on the subreddit.

“The gentleman was right in suggesting that food shouldn’t be eaten, but he got a little cop-like,” one person wrote. “I would’ve just moved … Also eating a burrito, which produces a certain amount of odors, is not right. Eating some candy or granola is fine, but not hot meals.”
