Ernesto “Ernie” Vasquez Trujillo, July 1938 - June 2018, resident of San Jose, California, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018 at 3:13pm with his family close by his side. He is survived by his wife Ramona and children Nathan, Lucinda and Joaquin and two grandchild­ren, as well as his siblings Hope, Emily, Tony and Margie.

Ernie was born and raised in Tulare, CA and attended Tulare Union High School, class of 1957. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1965 and was honorably discharged as a Specialist five E5 (T). Following his military service, Ernie ventured to San Jose, CA in 1966 where he later settled to start his family. He held positions at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View and later at Lockheed Martin in Palo Alto as an electrical engineer. His aerospace career spanned nearly 40 years. Ernie was an active member of LERA (Lockheed Employees Recreation­al Associatio­n). He attended San Jose State University on the G.I. Bill and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineerin­g (BSEE).

A viewing will be held at Peers-Lorentzen Funeral Services on Sunday July 1, 2018 from 4-7pm at 132 W. Kern Ave, Tulare, CA 93274. The funeral will be Monday, July 2, 2018 at Saint Rita’s Catholic Church, 954 S. O St, Tulare, CA 93274, beginning at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Parkinson’s Institute in Sunnyvale, California www.thepi.org/ giving-to-the-institute/ in Ernie’s honor.
