Townhomes planned for near Santana Row in 2019
Developer says it will complete the first phase sometime in 2019
SANTA CLARA >> A developer is planning a townhome project in Santa Clara after buying a choice site that fronts on El Camino Real, the builder said Thursday.
Landsea Homes, operating as LS Santa Clara, bought several parcels on July 13 from Santa Clara De Asis, an affiliate of SCS Development, according to Santa Clara County property records.
The 2.3-acre property traded hands
for $25.5 million, documents on file with the county show. LS Santa Clara paid cash for three parcels in the deal.
Catalina is the name of the new development of townhomes, according to Landsea. The developer intends to begin construction this summer.
“Santa Clara is one of the most highly desirable markets across the United States, and we are excited about unveiling Catalina to the community,” said Peter Beucke, Northern California division president for Landsea Homes.
The developers noted the project site is a short distance from the Santana Row and Westfield Valley Fair retail hubs.
Besides its projects in the South Bay and East Bay, Landsea is developing homes in New York, Boston, New Jersey, Arizona, as well as the Los Angeles area and Orange County.
Landsea hopes to deliver the first townhomes by sometime in 2019.
“Catalina's close proximity to the region's top tech employers and numerous transportation options are perfect for new homebuyers,” Beucke said.
