Thomas Labon Davis
April 3, 1942 - June 23, 2018 Resident of Campbell
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Tom Davis at the age of 76. He died in his Campbell home after a long illness from Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), a progressive neurological disorder, which causes a slow degeneration of the body. During his many-year battle with the disabling disease, he showed grace and love, while keeping his sense of humor. His wife Elaine’s love and care allowed him to live out the last progressively worsening eight years of the disease in his home. His sons Rodney and Tommy preceded Tom in death as well as his parents Woodrow and Pauline and sister Cathy.
Tom was a firefighter in the Santa Clara County’s Central Fire Department from 1972-1977 and a Fire Engineer in the San Jose Fire department from 19771998.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Elaine, Daughters Tracey Oliver, her husband Mike and children Bailey and Jack, His daughter Michele Vasquez, her husband Michael and children Mason, Maddox, and MJ, his daughter Paula Walkup, her husband Ben and their daughter Emily, and his brother Jerry Davis and sister Corinna Cage and their families. He also leaves behind his many nieces and nephews who also loved him dearly.
Tom will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his ability to get people to join him in his many activities, his quick wit, and especially for his love for his family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf, the outdoors, going on gambling trips, his membership in SIRS 125, and going to Palm Springs.
The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers Amato Rapisura, Glen Molina, and Reliance Hospice Care, for their continued love, help, and support.
Memorial donations may be made to Angels on Stage in San Jose, a program that enhances the lives of children and young adults with special needs. Also, Brain Support Network and Wounded Warriors.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Frances Cabrini Church 15333 Woodard Rd. San Jose, Ca. 95124on Thursday August 2, 2018 at 10:00AM
