Dianne Prindiville

-

February 27, 1947 - July 25, 2018 Resident of San Jose

Dianne Christine Prindiville passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 surrounded by family.

Born in San Francisco, Dianne cherished her relationship with God and her family. Celebrating holidays - big or small, mainstream or spontaneously conceived - in the presence of family and friends were her most treasured moments. Her quiet demeanor masked an intense and progressive pursuit of impact and goodness whether it was as an educator at St. Elizabeth’s Church and St. John Vianney School, a volunteer tutor at the Loving and Learning Center or as a steadfast supporter of friends and family through both their joys, and, especially, their tribulations. She discovered a passion for gardening later in life and was delighted to lend her “green thumb” to BiRite Foodservice - a family business co-founded by her father, Victor, in 1966.

Survived by her loving husband John (of 46 years). Lovingly remembered by her three children Christopher (Jennifer), Kevin (Alison) and Jennifer Cooney (Kyle) and seven wonderful grandchildren (Avan, Grace, Carsten, Kearny, Maeve, Estelle and Townes), her younger brothers Bill Barulich (Jeanne) and Steve Barulich (Patricia), and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ziney and Victor Barulich.

A garden was always a peaceful and life-giving place for Dianne. Now she rests in God’s garden.

Special gratitude to all of those who encouraged and comforted Dianne every moment of her five-year battle with ovarian cancer, including the doctors, nurses and hospice specialists at Kaiser - especially Dr. Song, Diane, Dinga, Iris, Brian, Heidi and Monica. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting some in your garden or making a donation to the Cancer Care Point, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, or Justice in Aging.

Family and friends are invited to a Vigil Service on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at St. John Vianney Church, 4600 Hyland Avenue, San Jose. Funeral Mass of Celebration on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the above Church. The Funeral Mass of Celebration will be followed by a reception at the San Jose Country Club for family and friends. A private burial service will occur the next day.
