Jay Butterfiel­d, Liberty football: Completed 16 of his 28 pass attempts for 292yards, three TDs and no intercepti­ons in a 35-10 victory over Vacaville. Brandon Camisa, San Ramon Valley football: An effecient 9 of 16 for 132 passing, he connected for TDs with four different targets in a 56-7 win over Heritage. Jordan Cobbs, San Leandro football: Caught eight passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in the Pirates’ 51-29 victory over Foothill. His 78-yard reception on the first offensive play set the tone for the game. He also was a force defensivel­y. Alex Cortessis, Acalenes football: In a 12-7 loss to Las Lomas, the linebacker ran wild with 21 tackles (7 solo) and 5½ sacks.

Shamar Garrett, De La Salle football: Intercepte­d two passes as the Spartans shut down a powerful Folsom offense in a 14-0 victory. He also had a 22-yard punt return that set up the first TD and a 19-yard run that set up the second. Alex Gonsalves, Dublin football: Needed only 13carries to amass 194rushing yards and a TD and had three catches for 38yards in a 21-0 win over Castro Valley. Grant Harper, Campolindo football: Completed 17 of 28 passes for 366 yards and five TDs for a QB rating of 129.5 in a 35-21 triumph over Marin Catholic. Ja’kobe Harris, Tennyson football: Rushed for a school-record six TDs in a 58-0 win over Newark Memorial. Five of them were in the first half, as he finished with 149 yards on only 10 carries.

Kyle Haener, Monte Vista football: In a low-scoring 9-3victory over Granite Bay, this wide receiver accounted for 11 catches and 104 yards — roughly half of the offense through the air.

Jaylen “Fresh” Ison, Moreau Catholic football: Returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown and finished with 17 rushes for 163 yards and two more touchdowns in a 48-26 win over St. Patrick-St. Vincent.

Joshua Scott, Deer Valley football: Rushed for 209 yards on 29 carries and scored four TDs in the Wolverines’ 36-21 win over American Canyon.

Ryan Stemplinge­r, Foothill football: Caught seven passes for a game-high 179 yards, including three touchdowns, in a 51-29 loss to San Leandro.

Dane Taylor, Monte Vista football: Grabbed two intercepti­ons as the Mustangs did not allow Granite Bay to reach the end zone in a 9-3victory.

Sione Vaki, Liberty football: USC offered this wide receiver a scholarshi­p for a reason, as he opened the season with eight catches for 138 yards and a touchdown during a 35-10 win over Vacaville.
