Week’s concerts: J. Cole, Zombie, Stewart

It’s another big week for the Bay Area concert scene, highlighte­d by an appearance by one of the best artists in hip-hop: J. Cole. Here are some top picks:

J. Cole: The hip-hop hero returns in support of his latest blockbuste­r, “KOD,” which is his fifth consecutiv­e album to hit No. 1 on the charts. Cole, who is one of the genre’s best live acts, performs Wednesday at Oracle Arena in Oakland. Young Thug is also on the bill. Details: 8 p.m.; $49.50-$149.50; ticketmast­er.com.

Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper: Stewart is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with a boatload of memorable hits, while Lauper is a versatile vocalist who has recorded some truly wonderful material. Slayer: The mighty metal act brings its farewell tour to the SAP Center in San Jose Sunday. The hard-rocking bill also features Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament and Napalm Death. Details: 5 p.m; $55-$65; ticketmast­er. com.
