Richard Dennis Bauerle

December 7, 1937 - August 29, 2018 San Jose

Richard (Dick) Bauerle passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, Susan, his children, family, and friends on August 29, 2018. Dick was the son of Roland F. Bauerle and Camilla E. Bauerle, both of New York.

Dick married his high school sweetheart, Susan, and they shared almost 60 years of marriage.

Dick was born in Oneonta, New York. He moved to San Jose and attended Bellarmine High School and Santa Clara University graduating in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received his Master’s in Engineering from Stanford University and MBA from Santa Clara University.

Dick worked for General Electric for thirty-eight years as a mechanical engineer for GE’s Nuclear Energy Division.

Dick is survived by his wife Susan and son, Randy Bauerle (Karen) and daughter, Julie Harris (Scott). He adored his grandchildren, Matthew, Christian, Derek, Ashley, Amanda, and Robert, and his great grandchildren, Cash, and Harper. He is also survived by brother Robert (Betty) and sister Mary Beth (Jack).

Dick enjoyed studying investment markets, arguing politics, working in his garden, and escaping with Susan to go to Palm Desert frequently.

He was quite a spiritual man and enjoyed being a part of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church. A man who lived his faith.
