On September 4, our dear, sweet father departed this earthly life. James Robert Thieme (Jim) was a beloved father, husband, and friend to many people. Jim was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana. Shortly after, he married Ellen Patrick and moved to California. He had a keen interest in aerospace, and the move to California was prompted by a new career awaiting him at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company. He retired after 34 years of service with Lockheed.

Jim never forgot his hometown, and he stayed deeply connected with his family in Lafayette, Indiana. He is survived by his brother J. Thomas Thieme and sisters, Josephine Deible and Barbara Schrader (Jim). He is preceded in death by his wife Ellen, and his brother, John Thieme, his sisters-in-law, Carol Thieme (wife of John) and Jane Thieme (wife of Tom), and his brother-in-law, Richard Deible (husband of Josephine). He is forever remembered and loved by his four children, Michael (Melissa), Catherine, Mary (David), and Fred (Lesley), sister-in-law Grace, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
