Police arrest alleged prescription drug dealer
MILPITAS >> A 21-year-old Milpitas man was arrested Aug. 30 on suspicion of dealing prescription drugs after he allegedly rammed three police vehicles, police said Friday.
Jeremy Correa’s arrest was the culmination of a five-month investigation, Milpitas police said in a news release.
Detectives initially tried to arrest Correa at the Milpitas Center on South Abbot Avenue, but he allegedly rammed three police vehicles with a silver 2002 Honda Accord and drove away.
Police said Correa then rear-ended another vehicle while trying to leave the shopping center. Detectives surrounded and arrested Correa and a 16-year-old Campbell girl who was also in the car.
A search of the Accord turned up $6,000 worth of Xanax pills, police said. Another $8,100 worth of the prescription-only antianxiety drug was allegedly found at Correa’s home in Milpitas, along with a large sum of cash, two firearms and ammunition.
Correa was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges including possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for sales, police said. He was also booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, evading and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police said the 16-yearold, who was not identified because she is a minor, was cited for possession of a controlled substance for sales and released to her parents.
