Talk about longevity. Three of the Bay Area’s venerable arts and wine festivals are being held this weekend, and all offer free admission. Here’s where to sip and shop:

Lafayette’s Art & Wine Festival, one of Contra Costa’s largest events, is now in its 23rd year. You’ll find 250 arts and crafts booths; wine, beer and food; entertainment; and children’s activities from 10 a.m. to

7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in downtown Lafayette.

In the South Bay its the 38th annual Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival, with artisans and vintners descending on Central Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Bands will perform on three stages, community groups will staff the food booths and the beer garden will be a shaded one.

Farther south it’s — catch this — the 42nd annual Almaden Art & Wine Festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday only at Almaden Lake Park, corner of Almaden Expressway and Coleman Avenue, San Jose. The Almaden Valley Women’s Club donates all proceeds to local nonprofit groups.
