DON’T MISS : “THE 70TH PRIMETIME

EMMY AWARDS” »

It’s that time of year again: the night when the television industry conveniently overlooks the lame reboots and trashy reality shows it foists upon America and gushes all over its artsy stuff. After sitting out a year, “Game of Thrones” — with 22 nominations — is back and looking to dominate again. But plenty of of rookies, including “GLOW,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Barry” also hope to nab some hardware. “Saturday Night Live” smart alecks Colin Jost and Michael Che are our hosts. (5 p.m. Monday, NBC).

Other bets

(7 p.m., Nickelodeon).

MONDAY: » The two-hour special, “Inside the Manson Cult: The Lost Tapes,” goes inside the ranch where Charles Manson’s followers lived, offering an “intimate and terrifying” look into America’s most murderous group. Included: new and archival interviews with former Manson cult members and criminal justice officials. (8 p.m., Fox).

TUESDAY » This installment of “The Great American Read” explores the ways that our best-loved novels help us understand our own identities and find our place in the world. Meredith Vieira hosts. (8 p.m., PBS).

WEDNESDAY » “America’s Got Talent” wraps up another zany season by crowning its newest champion. But before Tyra Banks declares the winner, you’ll have to endure a bloated,

two-hour finale. (8 p.m., NBC).

WEDNESDAY » The new sitcom “I Feel Bad” from executive producer Amy Poehler gets a special preview with back-to-back episodes. Sarayu Blue stars as a busy mom, wife and boss who is trying to get to the point where she’s perfectly OK

with being imperfect. (10 p.m., NBC).

THURSDAY » It’s all about grill thrills on this edition of “Bite Club.” Host Tyler Florence brings together five chefs to compete in a Japanese hibachi restaurant. (9 p.m., Food Network). FRIDAY » The trippy new limited series “Maniac” continues the fall trend of big stars doing TV. Emma Stone and Jonah Hill play two troubled people drawn to a pharmaceutical trial run by a mysterious doctor (Justin Theroux) who promises to cure all their woes. It winds up going terribly wrong. (Netflix).

SATURDAY » “The Shape of Water,” which won the Oscar for best picture earlier this year, makes its TV debut. It focuses on a mute cleaning woman working in a secret government lab in 1962. There, she befriends an otherworldly, aquatic creature being held there. (8 p.m., HBO).
