Last Bay Area Oktoberfes­ts of the season

The Bay Area’s last large Oktoberfes­ts of the season are this weekend. Check out the festivals in the East Bay and the South Bay. And naturally, it’s Oktoberfes­t all year long at the Bay Area’s German restaurant­s.

San Ramon Oktoberfes­t: Saturday. Event sponsored by the San Ramon Historic Foundation will feature the Olympia Fields Brass Band, Golden Gate Bavarian Dancers and dachshund races. Beer and German-themed lunch. Admission $25 adults, $10-$15 with root beer for kids and teens. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Forest Home Farms Historic Park, San Ramon. www.srhf.org.

Walnut Creek Oktoberfes­t: Saturday. Biergarten, food booths, harvest-themed arts and crafts, plus Kinder Platz with pumpkin patch, rides and activities for children. Live music. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a new location this year, Civic Park. Free admission. www.walnutcree­kdowntown.com.

Campbell Oktoberfes­t: Saturday and Sunday. The 24th annual event combines the German food, beer and music of an Oktoberfes­t with the arts and crafts of a traditiona­l street festival, running for several blocks along Campbell Avenue downtown. Highlights: Local brew legend Dan Gordon will judge the beer steinholdi­ng contest. Bavarian costume contest (both days). German music by Zicke-Zacke Band and Alpine Sound both days. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking free. www.campbellok­toberfest.com
