CAMPBELL >> A former teacher, on parole for catfishing his students for nude images two years ago, has been arrested again after he allegedly used a dating app to have sex with a minor, according to Campbell police.

Douglas Le, 27, of Campbell, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Elmwood men’s jail in Milpitas, and faces two charges each of sodomy, contacting a minor for sexual purposes, and arranging to meet a minor for sexual gratification.

According to Campbell police, detectives were recently alerted to an illicit relationship between Le and the victim after they reportedly met on the dating app Grindr. An ensuing investigation revealed evidence that Le “was engaging in sexual acts with a minor,” police said in a news release Friday.

Detectives determined that Le met with the victim at least twice in September.

“Even after having knowledge of the victim’s age, Mr. Le continued contacting the victim and soliciting the victim for sex,” police said.

Campbell officers went to Le’s home Tuesday and arrested him on a parole hold.

Le garnered headlines in 2016 when, while a teacher at Gilroy High School, he used the moniker “Rae Pelletier” and an image of an adult porn actor to create a Facebook profile of a fake teenage girl, which he used to trick students into sending him lurid images. At least nine victims were identified by authorities. At the time, Le taught chemistry, biotechnology and environmental science, and also coached the track team.

In 2014, he was accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a female student.

After the latest arrest, Campbell police said “there is a concern” that Le might have had sex with other minors based on his criminal history, past behavior, and activity on social media.

“We applaud the victim for coming forward and encourage others to do the same,” police said.
