Leslie Gremett

December 7, 1941 – October 9, 2018 Resident of San Jose, CA

Les passed away peacefully on October 9, 2018 surrounded by family, at the age of 76.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 7, 1941. He graduated from St. Louis High School, class of 1959, in Honolulu. He then graduated from University of Hawaii in January 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Les went on to earn a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California in 1971.

In January of 1965 he married his University of Hawaii sweetheart, Jo. Also, in the same year he began his career by working for Castle and Cooke in Hawaii. He later went to work for AAFES – Army and Air Force Exchange Service in Dallas, Texas which enabled him to travel all over the world.

He expanded his computer skills even more when he was hired by Hewlett-Packard (HP). He loved his work and it showed! During his time at HP his team was featured in Fortune magazine. Looking for a new challenge, he began learning new skills in the property appraisal field.

In retirement Les enjoyed woodworking, built boats, volunteered at church and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Throughout his life he enjoyed his sons Andy and Peter and loved going to swim meets, baseball, soccer games and spending time together as a family. He is survived by his wife Jo, sons Andy (Diana) and Peter (Laura) and his four grandchildren Emily, Matthew, James and Joseph and sister Joellen Webb of Texas.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday October 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., rosary at 10:30 a.m., at Queen of Apostles Church in San Jose followed by inurnment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
